Saudi Arabia’s king and crown prince extended congratulations to Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as Iran’s president, according to the state news agency SPA on Saturday.
SPA quoted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as saying, “I emphasize my commitment to enhancing and strengthening relations between our nations and peoples, and to advancing our mutual interests.”
In March 2023, Iran and Saudi Arabia signed a significant agreement mediated by China to restore relations following years of regional rivalry. Since then, officials from both countries have engaged in ongoing discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral ties.
