Carol Vorderman cheers Labour’s big win, slams Tory corruption

Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman strongly criticized the Conservative Party for what she described as years of “corruption, falsehoods, and manipulation,” following Labour’s decisive victory in the General Election.

Appearing on Channel 4’s live election coverage, Vorderman celebrated as the exit poll projected a 170-seat majority for Labour across the UK. Later that evening, Rishi Sunak acknowledged defeat, confirming Sir Keir Starmer as the UK’s next prime minister.

During the broadcast, Vorderman enthusiastically exclaimed, “Let’s kick off the celebrations because they’re gone,” referring to the Conservative Party.

“Fourteen years of corruption, lies, and gaslighting—there are two former disgraced Tory chancellors in the studio,” she continued.

“There’s Nadine Dorries, who barely showed up last year as an MP.”

“Everyone out there is saying no more—no more lies, deceit, corruption, VIP PPE lane scandal, betting scandal.”

“Who would have ever thought a government could be so utterly banal and ridiculous?”

Vorderman also shared her thoughts on X, formerly Twitter, stating, “Cheers to a new beginning.”

“Johnny Mercer is gone. Jacob Rees-Mogg is gone. Gillian Keegan is gone. We don’t have to endure the Tories anymore.”

The TV personality has been vocal about her disapproval of the Conservative Party, announcing plans to publish a “part diary, part political manifesto” exposing what she perceives as “incompetence and deception” within the party.
