The footage, obtained by the Daily Beast, captures Trump candidly discussing the 2024 campaign from a golf cart, accompanied by his son Barron and holding cash.
Reflecting on the recent presidential debate, Trump asked off-camera about his performance, confidently predicting Biden’s imminent departure from the race. He asserted, “He just quit, you know – he’s quitting the race. I got him out of there – and now we have Kamala.”
Despite assertions from the White House and many Democrats that Biden remains committed to his candidacy, recent polls showing him trailing Trump by six points have fueled speculation. Trump suggested Kamala Harris might pose a stronger challenge but criticized her abilities, stating emphatically, “She’s so bad. She’s so pathetic,” adding, “She’s so fucking bad.”
While Biden’s campaign has dismissed any notions of withdrawal, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre affirmed, “Absolutely not,” and Democratic governors have reiterated Biden’s determination to continue.
Although the Trump campaign did not directly address the video, they anticipate significant turmoil within the Democratic Party following Biden’s lackluster debate performance and mounting pressure on his candidacy.
Responding to the leaked video, the Biden-Harris campaign characterized it as another low point for Trump, aimed at diverting attention from Biden’s challenges. Trump also raised doubts about Biden’s ability to handle international relations, particularly with leaders like Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping, expressing concerns about Biden’s perceived weaknesses in foreign policy.
