Stakeholders convene in Islamabad to address Educational Disparities faced by women and girls across Pakistan
A conference titled ‘Education for Every Woman and Girl’ was organized in Islamabad on friday by the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) in collaboration with UNICEF and the British Council.
Held at a local hotel, the event was part of NCSW’s National Women’s Agenda – ‘The Next Horizon,’ focusing on educational disparities in line with the Government of Pakistan’s declaration of an Education Emergency.
Chairperson Nilofar Bakhtiar of NCSW inaugurated the conference with a call to action, stressing the urgent need for inclusive and equitable education. Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mohyuddin Wani, reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the educational landscape for women and girls in Pakistan. The conference brought together representatives from provincial ministries, underscoring a shared determination to address regional educational challenges and promote the empowerment of women and girls.
