Israeli airstrike kills 10 family members of Hamas leader

Hamas reported that an Israeli air strike on Tuesday killed 10 family members of its Qatar-based leader, Ismail Haniyeh. The victims included his sister, Zahr Haniyeh. The strike occurred at the Haniyeh family home in the Al-Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza. Gaza’s civil defense agency stated that more bodies might still be under the rubble but lacked the necessary equipment to retrieve them.

Haniyeh declared that this attack would not deter Hamas from continuing its resistance against Israel. He emphasized that the bloodshed strengthens their resolve. This incident adds to the approximately 60 of Haniyeh’s family members killed since October 7.

Israel’s military acknowledged the reports but did not confirm them. Hamas condemned the strike, listing it among other alleged “massacres” by Israel, accusing it of targeting innocent civilians in defiance of international laws and norms.
