Khawaja Asif attributes operation Azm-i-Istehkam to TTP resettlement

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif emphasized the distinction between the planned Operation Azm-i-Istehkam and previous military actions against terrorists, noting that Pakistan no longer has no-go areas as seen in the past when the Taliban controlled regions like Swat and the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

He stated that the state’s writ extends across the country, except for some areas where the Taliban have limited control during nighttime. Speaking at a press conference at the PML-N headquarters in Model Town, the minister highlighted the consequences of allowing terrorists to relocate to Pakistan.

Asif explained that the operation aims to curb the recent surge in terrorism and noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur did not object to the proposed operation during the Apex Committee meeting, which aimed to revive the National Action Plan.
