To support disadvantaged segments of society, the government has increased the budget for BISP to Rs593 billion, marking a 29 percent rise from the previous year.
This announcement was made during the budget speech delivered by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The number of beneficiaries receiving quarterly stipends under the Benazir Kafaalat scheme has been raised from 9.3 million to 10 million, with plans to increase the stipend amount to address current inflation.
