A day after attending an SIFC meeting, during which he spoke to the army chief “twice,” Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur met PTI founding chairman Imran Khan at Adiala jail on Sunday.
The meeting between the chief minister and the former prime minister took place in Adiala’s conference room and lasted about 40 minutes, according to sources.
Notably, visitors are generally not permitted to see prisoners on Sundays due to the public holiday, but the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister was granted permission to visit his detained leader.
Mr. Gandapur briefed Mr. Khan on the proceedings of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). They also discussed the party situation and national political issues, sources said.
Following the meeting, which is viewed as a positive step, CM Gandapur departed for Islamabad.
It is worth mentioning that after the SIFC meeting on Saturday, the chief minister emphasized that the province’s resources should continue to benefit both its residents and the country.
He assured the federal government of his administration’s cooperation for the nation’s benefit.
Mr. Gandapur described the SIFC proceedings as cordial and noted that he spoke with the COAS twice during the meeting.
