Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has increased the prices of the Yaris facelift

Indus Motor Company (IMC) has introduced the Toyota Yaris facelift model, accompanied by a price hike ranging from Rs144,000 to Rs606,000.

In mid-March, IMC reduced the prices of various Yaris models by Rs73,000-133,000 to ensure they remained below Rs4 million, excluding general sales tax.

As per the indicative price list shared with authorized dealers by IMC, the revised prices for the Toyota Yaris GLi M/T 1.3, CVT 1.3, ATIV M/T 1.3, and ATIV CVT 1.3 now stand at Rs4.479 million, Rs4.760 million, Rs4.730 million, and Rs5.604 million, respectively. These prices compare to the previous rates of Rs4.326 million, Rs4.616 million, Rs4.586 million, and Rs4.766 million, respectively.

The ATIV X CVT 1.5 with beige interior now carries a price tag of Rs6.255 million, up from Rs5.649 million.

Booking for the Yaris requires a partial payment of Rs1.5 million, with order intake commencing from May 24. A dealer mentioned that the price increase is attributed to the facelift, including updated headlights and bumpers.

Despite sluggish auto sales during the first ten months of FY24, there is optimism following the State Bank of Pakistan’s relaxation of import restrictions, leading to increased arrival of completely knocked-down kits (CKD).

Import data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) indicates that CKD imports rose to $72 million in April, compared to $60 million in March, $50 million in February, and $37 million in January, indicating a surge in advance bookings for popular vehicles.

Auto parts expert Mashood Ali Khan highlighted that the uptick in CKD kit imports suggests an improvement in sales, especially anticipated from July onwards, contingent on pro-auto industry measures expected in the FY25 budget.

Khan emphasized the importance of government support, suggesting that implementing assemblers’ demands to restrict used car imports could revitalize the industry in FY25. Failure to provide relief measures may continue to pose challenges for assemblers and vendors in the upcoming year.
