Justice Shahzad Khan of the Lahore High Court stated that the judiciary seeks to avoid conflicts with any party

During the closing ceremony of a pre-service training course for newly appointed district judges, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Khan addressed the prevalent culture of strikes within the legal community. He emphasized that the judiciary aims to avoid conflicts with any party but stressed that cooperation is essential for effective functioning. The remarks come in the midst of a prolonged strike in Lahore over the decision to relocate courts, leading to disruptions in judicial operations.

Justice Khan highlighted the impact of strikes on the legal system, noting that prolonged closures hinder access to justice for the public. While acknowledging the professionalism of the majority of lawyers, he emphasized the need to end the strike culture, with support from legal practitioners.

He commended the efforts of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and Supreme Court judges in addressing the strike culture, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling constitutional responsibilities. Despite ongoing strike calls, the judiciary remains committed to hearing cases and upholding justice.

Justice Khan urged newly appointed judges to adjudicate without fear and impartially, cautioning against aligning with external influences. He emphasized the divine nature of administering justice, highlighting the responsibility of judges to serve the oppressed and uphold the rule of law.
