The ongoing heatwave continued to scorch major cities in Sindh, with temperatures reaching up to 51 degrees Celsius on Friday.
According to the Met Office, Mohenjo Daro recorded the highest temperature in the country at 51°C, followed by Jacobabad and Khairpur at 50°C.
Larkana and Dadu experienced temperatures of 49°C, while Rohri and Sukkur saw 48.5°C. Padidan recorded 48°C, Shaheed Benazirabad 47°C, Mithi 46.5°C, and both Sakrand and Chhor 46°C. Tando Jam and Hyderabad reached 44.5°C.
Karachi also faced hot weather, with a maximum temperature of 36.7°C and humidity at 55 percent.
In its daily advisory, the Met department forecasted “very hot” weather for most parts of Sindh, including Karachi, over the next 24 hours. Additionally, “humid conditions” are expected in the coastal areas of the province.
Daytime temperatures are likely to remain six to eight degrees Celsius above normal in the upper districts of Sindh during this period.
