Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited Karachi on Sunday to oversee progress on seven development projects. He instructed authorities to resolve issues causing delays in completing the Malir Expressway and Karimabad Underpass projects.
Accompanied by provincial ministers and senior officials, CM Shah expressed dissatisfaction upon learning about a three-month delay in Segment-I of the Malir Expressway due to the relocation of K-Electric and Sui Southern Gas Company installations. He directed his secretary to arrange a meeting with both companies at the earliest.
During the visit, CM Shah addressed encroachment issues at the Quaidabad interchange and directed the deputy commissioner to resolve land disputes promptly. He also ordered SSPs to ensure the security of construction staff on the Malir Expressway.
Additionally, CM Shah suspended the SHO of Korangi for failing to prevent debris dumping along the Korangi Causeway road. He emphasized the importance of keeping the area clean and directed the SSP to monitor the situation closely.
Inspecting the New Jam Sadiq Bridge construction site, part of the Bus Rapid Transit Yellow Line corridor, CM Shah urged the project director to expedite work. He also visited the Karimabad Underpass project in District Central and instructed the Karachi Development Authority to accelerate progress to alleviate traffic congestion.
Furthermore, CM Shah reviewed the Bakhtiari Youth Centre construction, road rehabilitation near Gulberg Chowrangi, and Shahrah-i-Noor Jahan reconstruction, emphasizing the importance of timely completion for each project.
