ISPR’s Director General, Major General Ahmed Sharif, is currently addressing a press conference.
He began by discussing the ongoing tensions with Afghanistan and the terrorist attacks originating from Afghan soil into Pakistan.
“Our armed forces, personnel, and law enforcement agencies have suffered significant casualties in the fight against terrorism,” he stated.
“It is well-known that Pakistan has made extensive efforts for peace in the region, particularly in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s role in promoting peace has been crucial for the region.
“Pakistan has generously hosted Afghan refugees for an extended period and has provided more assistance to them than any other country, a fact recognized by the international community.”
Despite Pakistan’s efforts and continued engagement with the Afghan interim government, Gen Sharif highlighted that the TTP terrorists are persistently conducting terrorist activities in Pakistan.
