Our struggle is for rights not for power says Mulana Fazal ur Rehman

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), reiterated allegations of election manipulation and emphasized that his party is fighting for people’s rights and the sovereignty of the country, rather than for power.

Addressing a gathering in Karachi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated, “We are committed to Pakistan’s integrity, but unfortunately, national loyalty holds no value here.” He criticized the alleged manipulation of election results, accusing institutions of selling legislative seats from the Sindh Assembly to the President’s House during the 2024 nationwide polls.

He condemned the erosion of democracy in the country, blaming those in power for making Pakistan subservient to America despite its wealth of competent individuals and natural resources.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who led the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) that ousted the former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government in 2022, emphasized that their struggle is for the sovereignty of the country.

Regarding the recent elections, he described them as a “drama” and expressed determination for a sustained movement against election rigging.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that his party’s goal is not to secure positions in assemblies or ministries but to advocate for the rights of the people as dedicated soldiers.

He expressed optimism that Pakistan will prosper and develop when the JUI-F comes into power through a public movement.

In a recent passionate speech in the National Assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the government, election outcomes, parliamentarians, bureaucracy, and the establishment, urging leaders of ruling parties such as Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif (of PML-N), and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari (of PPP) to engage directly with the masses and uphold democratic principles.
