The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed authorities to expedite investigations and actions to locate and compensate eleven missing persons, including two brothers.
During a hearing on petitions seeking the recovery of the missing individuals, the SHC bench expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the provincial government and police. Justice Arshad Hussain Khan emphasized the emotional turmoil faced by the families of the missing persons and criticized the lack of urgency in the authorities’ actions.
Justice Zulfiqar Ali Sangi also criticized the lack of awareness among officers regarding the court’s orders for the recovery and compensation of missing persons. He highlighted the need for prompt action and expressed disappointment with the government lawyers’ lack of preparation and understanding of the case.
While a police officer mentioned that the whereabouts of some missing persons had been discovered, the court expressed concern over the delay in implementation and the officer’s subsequent transfer.
The court ordered the immediate implementation of measures for the investigation, recovery, and compensation of missing persons, including Syed Musab, Tahir Ali, Javed, Moaz, and Talha.
