Rain triggered incidents in Bajaur and Swat result in casualties and injuries.

Three individuals lost their lives, and ten others sustained injuries in separate incidents of roof collapses caused by heavy rain in Bajaur and Swat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.

In Bajaur, two women were killed, and five individuals, including four children, were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in the mountainous Gielle area. The victims, who were all sleeping in the same room, were buried under the debris of Shah Wakeel Khan’s house. Although Rescue 1122 officials managed to retrieve them and provide first aid, two women, aged 34 and 36, succumbed to their injuries at the district headquarters hospital Khar. The injured, including a 50-year-old woman, were also hospitalized.

Another incident occurred in Allmazo area of Mamund tehsil, where a woman named Safia Bibi, 25, was injured when her room collapsed due to heavy rain.

In Swat, one person died, and four others were injured when a house collapsed in Meena Bazaar Brikot. Dawa Khan lost his life, while Zakir, Sara, Sohail, and Gulisha suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Furthermore, heavy rain and snowfall have caused blockades in various areas, including the Karakoram Highway and Bisham-Swat road. The inclement weather has disrupted daily life, with power outages and hindrances to rehabilitation and road clearance work. Meteorological forecasts predict more rain and snowfall in the coming days.
