Militants launched a deadly attack on a cement factory in Darra Pezu town, Lakki Marwat district, killing a guard and holding five others hostage. They also set fire to vehicles and attempted to detonate explosives before fleeing. The police defused an improvised explosive device (IED) and initiated an investigation. In a separate incident, the house of an Awami National Party (ANP) leader in Shangla was attacked, damaging property but causing no injuries.
