Nawaz remains receptive to discussions with Imran

PML-N leader and former interior minister Rana Sanaullah has disclosed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was willing to engage in dialogue with PTI founding chairman Imran Khan in the past for the country’s benefit and remains open to such discussions.

In an interview, Sanaullah mentioned that Nawaz Sharif reached out to Imran even during the 126-day sit-in in 2014 and amid the tragic terrorist attack at the Army Public School, Peshawar later that year.

Despite previous disagreements and verbal attacks, Nawaz Sharif demonstrated his commitment to national interests by extending invitations for dialogue with Imran Khan, according to Sanaullah.

Sanaullah also affirmed the stance of former army chief Gen (retd) Qamar Bajwa, who denied any involvement in sending Nawaz Sharif abroad.

He alleged that Imran Khan and his administration facilitated Nawaz Sharif’s journey to London, arranging medical evaluations to confirm Nawaz’s health status.

Sanaullah criticized Imran Khan’s public support, attributing it to a show of resistance and victimization rather than genuine popularity.

He emphasized Nawaz Sharif’s unwavering commitment to his political stance over decades of public service.

Sanaullah further alleged that Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri orchestrated the Model Town Lahore incident in 2014, which resulted in fatalities.

Regarding party leadership, Sanaullah clarified that Nawaz Sharif supports the current government led by his younger brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and retains the option to resume the presidency of the PML-N.

Sanaullah also claimed that Indian intelligence agency RAW is involved in terrorism within Pakistan, citing reports he has personally reviewed.
