A two-member Saudi team visited Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport to assess its facilities and discuss arrangements for Haj and Umrah pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia. The visit was part of the ‘Road to Makkah Project’, aimed at streamlining immigration procedures for pilgrims. Launched by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah in 2019, the initiative has been implemented in five countries, including Pakistan. Accompanied by the Saudi consul general in Karachi, the delegation was warmly received upon arrival and given a comprehensive tour of the airport. They showed particular interest in the immigration process and space available for pilgrims. Discussions also covered the allocation of immigration halls and the importance of pilgrims arriving well in advance of their flight departure times.
