Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi issued instructions on Wednesday to block mobile SIM cards associated with invalid or expired identity cards. Chairing a meeting at the Nadra headquarters, he also mandated the provision of death certificates free of charge.
During his visit to various wings of Nadra, the minister directed relevant authorities to establish Nadra offices nationwide, modeled after the efficient setup of police stations in Punjab.
Emphasizing the importance of safeguarding citizens’ data, the minister urged for enhanced mobile services and effective utilization of social media to promote Nadra’s initiatives.
The Nadra chairman provided an overview to the minister regarding Nadra’s Roadmap 2024-25, encompassing plans for modern security infrastructure, cybersecurity assessments, employee awareness programs, and the strategic vision for Nadra.
