ECP suspends notification of Balochistan Speaker’s victory

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the notification of Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai’s victory in the PB-51 Chaman constituency and ordered a repoll due to allegations of irregularities and rigging. The repoll is scheduled for April 21 at 12 designated polling stations, with the outcome determining the official result for PB-51. Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai had initially won with 20,390 votes, defeating Asghar Achakzai of the ANP. The decision follows complaints of electoral malpractices by unsuccessful candidates, prompting the ECP to investigate and decide on the repoll on March 6.
