Balochistan’s Inspector General (IG) of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, accompanied by Counter-Terrorism Department DIG Atizaz Goraya, visited the Noshki site where nine individuals from Punjab were fatally shot by unidentified gunmen after being abducted from a Taftan-bound passenger coach last week.
During the visit, Rakhshan Range DIG Wazir Khan Nasar briefed the senior police officials on the tragic incident and the ongoing investigation progress, conducted jointly by the police and CTD.
Officials stated that all angles of the incident were under scrutiny to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the killings of the nine individuals en route to Iran from Quetta.
Addressing the gathering, IG Sheikh highlighted the provincial government’s decision to revise the security plan to safeguard people traveling on all highways across the province.
“Any lapses or negligence will not be tolerated in ensuring security,” Mr. Sheikh emphasized, stressing that the protection of civilians remained the police force’s foremost priority.
He underscored the importance of heightened vigilance among police personnel stationed at entry and exit points along all routes to ensure public safety.
“Efforts will be intensified to eradicate robbers, troublemakers, and terrorists, thereby upholding peace in Balochistan,” IG Sheikh declared.
