Citing Israel’s “violations” of the ceasefire deal in Gaza, the military arm of the Palestinian organization Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, stated Monday that the planned release of Israeli hostages scheduled for Saturday would be delayed until further notice.
“While the resistance has fully upheld its commitments, the resistance leadership has monitored the enemy’s (Israeli) violations and its failure to adhere to the terms of the agreement over the past three weeks,” spokesperson Abu Obaida said in a statement on Telegram. These violations include shelling and gunfire directed at displaced people in various parts of the Strip, delaying their return to northern Gaza, and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid in all its forms as per the agreement.
The release of the Zionist (Israeli) detainees, which was supposed to take place this Saturday, will now be delayed until further notice, he continued, “pending full compliance of the agreement by the occupation and retroactive compensation for the entitlements of the previous weeks.”
