Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has initiated a unique initiative to enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities by providing them with assistive devices.
Applications are currently being accepted for the provision of assistive devices, such as complimentary wheelchairs, to individuals with mobility impairments throughout Punjab in accordance with her directives. Their mobility and accessibility will be improved by the use of these devices.
Individuals with hearing problems will also receive hearing aides, which will help them speak and hear better. Through the web portal adwc.punjab.gov.pk, people with disabilities can apply for these assistive gadgets from the comfort of their homes.
A CNIC or B-form and a disability certificate from the District Disability Assessment Board are required for eligibility. For additional information, they can visit the district social welfare offices or call the dedicated helpline 1312.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the significance of empowering individuals with disabilities, asserting, “They are special and highly valuable members of our society.” We are dedicated to ensuring the realization of our commitment to their rehabilitation and well-being.
She announced the imminent completion of Pakistan’s first government autism center and emphasized that the Himmat Card initiative aims to foster economic self-reliance for individuals with disabilities.
