Azhar Mahmood, the head coach for Pakistan’s upcoming T20 series against New Zealand, will join the team’s camp in Rawalpindi today. He was appointed specifically for this series as the PCB looks for foreign coaches for long-term roles. Pakistan will have Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim back from retirement for this series, while Usman Khan has chosen to play for Pakistan over the UAE. Babar Azam returns as captain, replacing Shaheen Shah Afridi. New Zealand, arriving with a depleted squad due to IPL commitments, will be led by Michael Bracewell. Rawalpindi will host the first three matches before the series moves to Lahore. This series serves as Pakistan’s preparation for the T20 World Cup in June, to be held in the United States and the West Indies.
