Several more people perish in heavy rains and lightning strikes.

The death toll has risen to 39 as heavy rains and lightning continue to wreak havoc across several regions of Pakistan. At least 12 more people died on Sunday, with six fatalities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four in Punjab, and two in Balochistan.

The continuous downpour has caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure in Pasni, Kech, Panjgur, and Gwadar, with reports of collapsed roofs and flooding. The coastal towns have been particularly affected, with Pasni resembling a large lake due to flash floods. The power supply has been severely disrupted, leading to outages in Quetta and surrounding areas.

In Punjab, the death toll from lightning strikes has reached 21, with nine men, five women, and seven children among the victims. Lightning strikes have been reported in several districts, including Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur.
