The majority of the Muslim world will celebrate Eid simultaneously.

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced that the entire nation would celebrate Eidul Fitr together on Wednesday, following moon-sighting testimonies from various parts of the country. Despite initial reports of no Shawwal moon sightings in several regions, the decision was made to unify the celebration. Pakistan has joined several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and others, in celebrating Eid on Wednesday. However, India and Bangladesh will observe the festival on Thursday as the moon was not sighted there. The committee meeting in Islamabad was attended by members representing major Islamic schools of thought, along with officials and technical experts. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, presiding over the meeting, announced the sighting of the Shawwal moon in various parts of the country, leading to the decision to mark Eidul Fitr the following day. He emphasized unity and the need for all sections of society to work together for the country’s welfare. Earlier, zonal committees in Karachi and Lahore reported no moon sightings, while the committee in Peshawar forwarded 64 testimonies to the central committee after verification.
