PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of policemen in Lakki Marwat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and called for collaborative efforts between the federal and provincial governments to eradicate terrorism. He emphasized that eliminating terrorists and their breeding grounds is a national duty that requires unity. Bilawal also mourned the martyrdom of DSP Gul Muhammad Khan and his guards, praising their bravery and considering them national heroes. His call for unity against terrorism follows an attack on a Chinese convoy in Besham, where six people, including five Chinese engineers, were killed in a suicide attack. PM Shehbaz Sharif has directed increased cooperation with provinces for counterterrorism efforts and personally reviewing security arrangements for Chinese nationals. The army chief, General Asim Munir, reiterated the resolve of the armed forces to eliminate terrorism, especially to ensure the safety of foreign citizens contributing to Pakistan’s prosperity.
