On World Health Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his government’s dedication to providing healthcare to all citizens. He emphasized the theme “My health, my right,” highlighting every individual’s entitlement to quality healthcare. The government aims to enhance primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare, medical education, preventive healthcare, and governance. Efforts will be made to expand and upgrade health facilities, launch mobile clinics, revitalize immunization, and improve mental health services. The government also prioritizes the establishment and operation of medical facilities in each province. Additionally, a committee has been formed to review climate change governance and mechanisms to access climate funds, with a focus on mainstreaming climate considerations across government operations and integrating them into the development agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. The committee will also evaluate existing and proposed institutional mechanisms and policies to mobilize climate finance and engage with private capital and multilateral development banks.
