According to a report from the information ministry released on Sunday, Gwadar port has received early warning system (EWS) equipment from China to help mitigate the adverse effects of natural disasters such as catastrophic floods and heavy rainfall. The collaboration between the China Meteorological Administration and the Pakistan Meteorological Department is part of the capacity-building plan for emergency management of significant meteorological disasters under the Belt and Road Initiative’s China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Additionally, the China Meteorological Administration is aiding the Met Office in enhancing its capabilities to address emerging hydro-meteorological challenges.
