Court Grants Extension of Interim Bail for Shibli Faraz and Barrister Gohar

Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted an extension for the interim bail of several prominent leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) until February 4. The decision was made during a hearing presided over by Duty Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, which focused on bail pleas related to a protest outside the Supreme Court.

Among the PTI leaders whose bail was extended are Shibli Faraz, Barrister Gohar, Sardar Masroof, Falak Naz, Niaziullah Niazi, and Ansar Kayani. These individuals were present in court, with Advocate Riasat Ali Azad representing them. The court has adjourned the proceedings and confirmed the extension of the interim bail.

The case revolves around protests that occurred outside the Supreme Court, leading to the registration of four separate cases at the Secretariat Police Station. These leaders face charges in connection with the demonstration, which led to their arrest earlier. However, their legal teams continue to contest the charges, seeking further extensions and clearance in the coming hearings.

The decision to extend the bail until February 4 means that the leaders will remain free while legal proceedings continue. The court’s adjournment gives the PTI leadership additional time to prepare their defense for the upcoming sessions. This development comes amid ongoing political tensions, with PTI leaders actively engaging in legal battles regarding their involvement in various protests and political events.
