KPK CM Gandapur directs building dams for cultivating barren land

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has instructed the agriculture department to implement a “cluster solar tubewell” system and construct dams to enhance cultivation on barren land. He emphasized the importance of introducing a modern irrigation system to ensure efficient water usage. Gandapur stressed that these initiatives are crucial for achieving self-sufficiency in agricultural production and food security in KP. During a meeting, he also highlighted the significance of the Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal project in cultivating millions of acres of barren land in southern districts. Gandapur urged authorities to digitize water management processes, enforce penalties for water theft, and expedite ongoing development projects. Additionally, he chaired a meeting on the livestock sector, emphasizing its potential for employment and income generation. Gandapur directed efforts towards modernizing the livestock sector, promoting dairy products, providing training, and offering interest-free loans for cattle rearing. He also emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy to promote fisheries.
