UN Women Pakistan Delegation Visits Punjab Safe Cities Authority Headquarters
A delegation from UN Women Pakistan, headed by the Chief of Mission, visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) headquarters on Friday. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Managing Director Muhammad Ahsan Younas and Chief Operating Officer Mustansar Feroze, who provided a detailed briefing on the authority’s initiatives.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to Pakistan’s first Virtual Women Police Station, the Child Safety Centre, and other key departments under PSCA. They also toured the Operations and Monitoring Centre, where they learned about the advanced 15 Emergency Helpline System and the PSCA’s use of artificial intelligence for detecting traffic violations and identifying weapons.
Managing Director Muhammad Ahsan Younas highlighted the ongoing expansion of the Smart Safe City Projects to 18 additional districts in Punjab, assuring that they would be completed soon across the province.
The UN Women Pakistan delegation commended PSCA for its efforts in ensuring the safety of women and children, particularly applauding the establishment of the Virtual Women Police Station, which they regarded as a significant milestone. The visit concluded with a gesture of goodwill, with both parties exchanging gifts.
