A fourth aid convoy, consisting of 70 vehicles filled with essential supplies, is set to depart for Parachinar today, according to official reports.
This largest convoy to date will deliver flour, sugar, fruits, vegetables, and medicines to support the affected communities in the Kurram district. The district administration, alongside police and security forces, is taking measures to ensure the convoy’s safety amidst heightened security concerns.
In addition to aid distribution, authorities have started providing compensation to those impacted by recent violence in the region. Efforts are underway to offer relief and rebuild trust within the community.
Security forces have ramped up operations to restore stability in Kurram. Bagan Bazaar has been secured, and multiple bunkers in Irfani Kalay, associated with the Watezai and Tori tribes, have been vacated.
A search operation has been initiated to apprehend individuals responsible for attacking relief convoys and other violent acts. Tribal elder Haji Kareem confirmed that door-to-door searches are underway to capture those involved in the unrest.
Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud recently revealed plans for a major operation targeting four locations in the district to eliminate terrorist threats. Displaced residents have been relocated to safer areas, including Tal and Hangu, for their protection.
Despite a recent peace agreement between warring tribes, the region remains volatile. Violence erupted again, injuring Kurram DC Mehsud during a shooting incident, further complicating stabilization efforts.
Authorities remain dedicated to addressing the region’s humanitarian and security challenges, working to restore peace and safety to its residents.
