On the occasion of International Day of Education, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif delivered an inspiring message highlighting the critical role of education in empowering individuals and communities, especially in the face of rapid technological advancements.
This year’s theme, “Artificial Intelligence and Education: Protecting Human Factors in an Automated World,” underscores the importance of ensuring that AI progress supports humanity’s collective development. The Prime Minister raised the crucial question: “As automation increases, how can we sustain human values and contributions?”
He emphasized that education is a powerful tool to equip young people with skills to navigate and shape the evolving technological landscape. By focusing on critical thinking, innovation, and ethical responsibility, the government aims to ensure citizens can adapt to and drive technological change while preserving core human values.
The Prime Minister also highlighted key initiatives to enhance educational institutions, such as IT labs in colleges, digital hubs in rural schools, smart classrooms, and e-learning portals. These efforts, alongside centers for innovation like robotics and STEM labs, aim to prepare students for the future.
Reaffirming his commitment to a human-centered education system, the Prime Minister recognized educators’ dedication and called for collective action to ensure that education remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for future generations.
