PM Shehbaz Sharif hails the opening of Gwadar international airport

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his approval of the launch of flight operations at Gwadar International Airport, calling it a significant milestone in establishing Gwadar as a key hub connecting Central and Eastern Asia, the Middle East, and Gulf nations.

In a statement, the Prime Minister highlighted the opening of the airport as an important development for enhancing connectivity in Pakistan and the wider region. He underscored its importance in advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative, which aims to drive regional growth and prosperity.

“This achievement brings us closer to realizing the shared vision of Chinese President Xi Jinping and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the development of Pakistan and the region through CPEC,” PM Shehbaz said.

Acknowledging China’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s growth, he described the state-of-the-art airport as a testament to the strong friendship between Pakistan and China. The Prime Minister thanked the Chinese leadership for their continuous support and praised the efforts of Defense and Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, security personnel, and military leadership for their tireless work in completing the project.

With its modern amenities, Gwadar International Airport is set to enhance regional connectivity and play a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s position in global trade and infrastructure development.
