PIA’s inaugural flight arrives at the newly-constructed Gwadar international airport

Weeks after Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its operations to Europe following the lifting of a four-year ban, the national carrier reached another significant milestone with the landing of its inaugural flight at the newly-constructed Gwadar International Airport.

Flight PK-503, according to the schedule on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport website, departed from Karachi at 9:50 am and arrived in Gwadar at 11:15 am. The aircraft was greeted with a ceremonial water-cannon salute to mark the historic event.

The inaugural flight carried senior officials from the aviation division along with regular passengers. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, who personally welcomed passengers upon their arrival.

The launch of the new Gwadar airport is regarded as a major step toward improving connectivity and fostering development in the region.
