Muttahida suggests leaving coalition if Karachi’s crime wave persists

Senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Faisal Subzwari calls for an operation to tackle street crime in Karachi and hints at the party’s withdrawal from the coalition government if the issue persists. This demand follows a rise in muggings and killings in the city. Subzwari’s statement coincides with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah’s acknowledgment of the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi. Subzwari urges federal authorities and the Rangers’ director general to address the alarming surge in street crime. He criticizes the provincial government’s handling of the situation and emphasizes the need for concrete measures to curb criminal activities. CM Shah, on the other hand, admits to the unsatisfactory law and order situation during their previous tenure but reassures efforts to improve the situation. He highlights measures being implemented to address street crime and kidnapping for ransom.
