Maulana Fazlur Rehman Blames Government for Economic Problems

JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, during a press conference on Saturday, underscored that economic indicators are of little value if they fail to positively impact the daily lives of ordinary citizens. He expressed concern over the government’s inability to provide immediate relief to the public, who are grappling with severe economic hardships.

Rehman pointed out that the country’s economic recovery hinges on strengthening the Pakistani rupee. He stated that without addressing the currency’s weakness, any progress in economic indicators would remain meaningless for the common people.

The JUI-F chief stressed the importance of collective action and said that resolving Pakistan’s economic challenges requires collaboration from all political stakeholders. He emphasized that the country’s problems could only be solved effectively if all parties were involved in the decision-making process.

He also raised concerns about the ongoing dialogue between the government and other political parties, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Rehman noted that his party, the JUI-F, had not been consulted regarding the negotiations and expressed frustration over being kept out of the loop. “The JUI-F is unaware of what is happening in the negotiation meetings,” Rehman stated, calling for greater transparency and inclusivity in the political process.

His comments reflect growing frustration within opposition circles over the government’s handling of both economic and political issues, particularly regarding negotiations with PTI. Rehman’s remarks highlight the need for broader political cooperation and a clear plan to address Pakistan’s ongoing economic challenges.
