PIA Resumes Direct Flight Between Islamabad and Paris, Boosting Connectivity

PIA’s inaugural direct flight from Islamabad to Paris, PK-749, has successfully landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport, marking the airline’s return to France after a hiatus of more than four years. The flight’s arrival was met with a warm welcome from Charge d’Affaires Huzefa Khanum, along with Pakistani diaspora members, PIA, and aviation officials.

During the welcome ceremony, Charge d’Affaires Huzefa Khanum emphasized the importance of this direct connection, calling it a pivotal development for overseas Pakistanis. He highlighted that the resumption of this flight would significantly enhance trade, tourism, business, and cultural ties between Pakistan, France, and the broader European Union.

PIA CEO, Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, who was on board the flight, announced that the airline would now operate two direct flights per week between Islamabad and Paris, on Fridays and Sundays, providing a convenient and efficient travel option for passengers. He also recalled that PIA first initiated direct flights to France in 1966, making this resumption a historic and significant milestone.

A representative from Air France also expressed his satisfaction with the development, recognizing it as a positive step towards strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Passengers on the flight shared their appreciation for the reduced travel time and commended the high standard of service offered during the journey. To commemorate the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at Charles de Gaulle Airport, attended by embassy staff and PIA officials, celebrating the successful resumption of this important air link.
