Test batter Fawad Alam played a crucial unbeaten knock of 82 for the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), helping them take the lead over Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) in their President’s Trophy match at the SBP Sports Complex on Thursday.
SBP, resuming at 78-5, were bowled out for 172 in 54.1 overs. Fawad, who came in at 34-2, faced 142 balls, hitting five fours for his 82* to provide some resistance. MushÂtaq Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for OGDCL, taking three wickets.
In response, OGDCL managed to score 202-4 in 55 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Abbas Ali (68) and Hasan Raza (51), with Mohammad Sarwar Afridi (31*) and Adil Amin (24*) helping to extend the score.
At the NBP Sports Complex, KRL were bowled out for 151 after starting the day at 3-0 in two overs against Wapda. Wapda finished the day at 114-3 in 30 overs, leading by 117 runs.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) faced a 117-run deficit after being dismissed for 224 in 60.2 overs against Eshaal Associates. Eshaal Associates were 120-2 at stumps, extending their lead to 237, with Azan Awais unbeaten on 53.
SNGPL posted 406 all out in 98.1 overs against Pakistan Television (PTV), with contributions from Qasim Akram (138), Mubasir Khan (100), and Shahzaib Khan (66). In reply, PTV was 260-4 in 65 overs, with half-centuries from Mohammad Taha (86*) and Mohammad Shahzad (70).
