PTI announced boycott of Senate elections in Sindh

PTI has decided to boycott the Senate elections in Sindh, citing alleged rigging in the recent general elections. The party plans to stage a large rally in Karachi on April 28 in protest. PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh stated that the party would not participate in elections held in assemblies formed through rigged polls. He claimed that during by-elections in Sindh, PTI candidates were abducted to prevent them from running. Sheikh criticized the rejection of PTI’s nomination papers for the NA-207 seat and accused Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari of benefiting from an unfair election process. Aseefa was elected unopposed as an MNA on March 29, filling the vacant seat of her father, Asif Ali Zardari. PTI claims to have won on February 8 but was defeated through rigging on February 9, leading them to boycott the Senate polls in Sindh. They announced plans to protest against the government and hold a rally in Karachi to challenge the legitimacy of the ruling party.
