PIA restores Paris flights and unveils new routes

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume direct flights to Paris on Friday, January 10, 2025, after a break of over four years, marking a key move to enhance business, tourism, and cultural connections.

The Islamabad-Paris route will operate twice weekly, beginning with flight PK749, departing Islamabad airport at 12:00 PM and carrying more than 300 passengers. The inaugural flight will be seen off in a simple ceremony by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, PIA’s acting CEO Khurram Mushtaq, and the Secretary of Aviation.

A PIA spokesperson remarked, “The Boeing 777 for the Paris flight is fully booked, and the next four flights are also fully reserved.” Passengers on the first flight will be warmly welcomed upon their arrival in Paris.

Expanding its network further, PIA has announced new domestic and international routes. Starting January 20, two weekly flights will connect Sialkot and Bahrain. A weekly flight between Lahore and Kuwait will launch on January 25, and two weekly flights from Lahore to Dammam will begin on January 22. Additionally, weekly flights from Faisalabad to Jeddah and Sialkot to Doha will start on January 20 and 21, respectively. PIA will also introduce a weekly flight between Peshawar and Karachi from January 25.

The new routes will utilize Boeing 777 and Airbus 320 aircraft as part of PIA’s growth strategy.
