PML-N’s Irfan Siddiqui criticizes Imran’s jail meetings deal

PML-N senior leader Irfan Siddiqui has criticized what he sees as an extraordinary agreement between PTI founder Imran Khan and the Adiala Jail authorities, allowing Khan to meet with party members. Siddiqui labeled the agreement as a blatant disregard for the law and prison regulations. Under the agreement, Khan is permitted to appoint focal persons for meetings, a privilege not extended to other jailed politicians. These meetings, according to the agreement, are to last between 30 to 45 minutes with a maximum of six visitors. Siddiqui questioned why such privileges were not extended to other prisoners and criticized the unequal treatment. The agreement came shortly after the Punjab Government imposed a ban on visitors in Adiala Jail, which PTI leaders claimed was a deliberate attempt to prevent them from meeting Khan.
