Dense fog blanketed multiple cities across Punjab overnight from Sunday to Monday, disrupting daily life and causing major traffic problems.
The thick fog severely impacted road traffic in various areas. A Motorway police spokesperson reported that key routes, including Motorway M2 (Lahore to Kot Momin), M3 (Lahore to Abdul Hakim), M5 (Sher Shah to Zahir Pir), and M11 (Lahore to Sialkot), were closed to all traffic due to low visibility.
In response to the hazardous conditions, the Motorway police advised motorists to use alternate routes via the Grand Trunk (GT) Road, maintain low speeds, and use fog lights for safety. The public has also been urged to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
The dense fog has further disrupted traffic on several national highways, complicating the situation with reduced visibility.
