Dense fog has blanketed several regions of Punjab, causing significant traffic disruptions and leading to the closure of multiple motorway sections.
The Motorway Police have temporarily shut down the M-2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, the M-3 from Faisalabad to Jaranwala, and the M-11 Lahore-Sialkot motorway due to dangerously reduced visibility.
Cities affected by the fog include Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar, and Sahiwal, where motorists are experiencing severe delays. Authorities have advised the public to avoid non-essential travel and emphasized the use of fog lights for safer driving.
To enhance public safety, the Motorway Police have launched an awareness campaign, sharing video messages in various regional languages to promote caution. Drivers are advised to use fog lights and double indicators, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and ensure wiper blades are in use for better visibility.
