Squid Game Season 3: first look reveals mysterious new cast member

A new teaser for Squid Game Season 3 introduces a seemingly innocent yet deadly character, adding more mystery to the upcoming season.

Shortly after the release of the highly anticipated second season of the Korean thriller last Thursday, Netflix unveiled the first teaser for Season 3 on New Year’s Day.

“Everyone say hi to Chul-su [waving hand] Squid Game 3 coming 2025,” the streaming platform captioned the short clip, which introduced a creepy new character.

The 16-second video begins with three new players in tracksuits entering an arena where the giant “Red Light, Green Light” doll, Young-hee, is shown from behind. The doll’s face then appears on screen at a railroad crossing, where a baby doll is seen on the other side, gazing back at it.

This announcement comes after the highly awaited second season of Squid Game, which premiered on December 26 and quickly garnered 68 million views in its first three days.

As fans eagerly await more, Netflix has already confirmed that a third season is on the way.

Squid Game Season 3 is scheduled for release in 2025. While no specific date has been confirmed, series director, writer, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk shared his expectations. “After season 2 launches, I believe we will announce the release date for season 3 soon. I expect it to launch around summer or fall next year,” he told Variety.
