Five Chinese nationals killed in suicide bombing

Since the new government took power after the Feb 8 elections, Pakistan has witnessed an increase in high-profile terrorist attacks. Terrorists have targeted security forces and foreign interests in an attempt to destabilize the country and create discord with strategic allies, especially China.

One such attack occurred in the Besham area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where a suicide bomber targeted a convoy escorting Chinese engineers. The engineers, working on the Dasu Hydropower Project, were killed when their vehicle was hit by an explosive-laden vehicle.

In another incident, terrorists attempted to attack Pakistan’s naval base PNS Siddique in Turbat, but the attack was thwarted by security forces. One soldier, Sepoy Noman Fareed, was martyred in the operation to neutralize the attackers.

Additionally, there was a Baloch terrorist attack on the Gwadar Port Authority complex, resulting in the martyrdom of five security personnel.

Security forces also conducted an operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, neutralizing four terrorists involved in various terrorist activities
