Bollywood rapper Badshah has found himself at the center of controversy once again, this time for an alleged traffic violation in Gurugram, Haryana, near New Delhi.
Reports suggest that Badshah was fined Rs15,500 (around 670 AED) on December 15 for reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road while en route to a concert headlined by Punjabi singer Karan Aujla, where Badshah was scheduled to perform.
The Gurugram Police confirmed that the incident involved a convoy of three vehicles, including a Mahindra Thar registered under the name of Dipender Hooda from Panipat. According to Virender Vij, Gurugram’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hooda was driving the Thar, which was fined under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act for dangerous and wrong-side driving. While Badshah was part of the convoy, it remains unclear whether he was behind the wheel.
Badshah’s team issued a strong denial in response, calling the allegations “completely false.”
Further investigation revealed that the number plate of one vehicle in the convoy was being used to track the case, and two of the vehicles had temporary registrations. Sandeep Kumar, the Gurugram Police PR officer, added that the investigation is ongoing.
The incident has sparked public debate, with many calling for stricter traffic law enforcement, regardless of celebrity status.
