The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) is holding a public hearing in Lahore today, as requested by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), to determine its revenue requirements and prescribed prices for fiscal year 2024-25.
SNGPL has proposed an average prescribed price of Rs 4,446.89 per MMBTU, including previous years’ shortfall, for natural gas business. They have also stated an RLNG cost of service at Rs 325.08 per MMBTU for the upcoming fiscal year.
Ogra will conduct further public hearings in Lahore on March 25, 2024, and in Peshawar on March 27, 2024, to allow stakeholders, consumers, and the public to express their views. All gas consumers have been invited to participate through their monthly gas bills.
Ogra is expected to make a decision after the public hearing in Peshawar on March 27, 2024. The government must announce the sale price of gas within 40 days of the regulator’s decision on SNGPL’s petition. Ogra previously held a public hearing on SSGC’s petition on March 18, 2024.
